Turning AgingUnbound from an Idea Into a Vibrant Brand

Some projects start as a simple ask and quickly reveal something much bigger. That’s exactly what happened when public-health educator Donna Gurule reached out.

“I was thinking, okay, I need a website. I need an internet presence on what I want to do or who I am or what I want to be when I grow up,” she recalls with a laugh.

That single request quickly blossomed into something bigger.

After our initial conversation, it became clear that she needed a full brand, a marketing strategy, and the confidence to follow her heart through her venture AgingUnbound.

Meeting Donna Gurule

The Visionary Behind AgingUnbound

Donna came to me with a lifelong passion for health and prevention and a clear desire to help people thrive as they age. “I feel my swim lane is out in front—focusing on health and wellness and helping people age well,” she told me during our first conversation.

Her mission is ambitious: give people the tools to extend their “go-go years” well beyond the usual expectations. Her passion lies in empowering seniors and their adult children to enjoy the third third of life. What she didn’t have yet was a brand and digital presence to match that vision.

From “Just a Website” to Full-Scale Brand

Our collaboration started with a discovery process to uncover the heart of AgingUnbound and the audience she most wants to reach: California seniors and their families planning for decades of active living. From there, we built every piece needed to launch a strong, enduring brand.

The Verve Method Approach

Our process began with deep discovery and an expansive brand-building plan. Deliverables included:

Comprehensive Brand Voice & Strategy

Visual Identity & Marketing Assets

Digital Infrastructure

Collateral for Engagement

As Donna summarized: “Wow—that’s a great reminder of all the things that you’ve done. I am very grateful and appreciative.”

Donna’s Perspective

I always like to hear my clients’ reflections in their own words. Here are a few highlights from my debrief with Donna:

What were you looking for when we first connected?

“In my mind I was really more looking for a website… but it evolved into something bigger. Solopreneurs often don’t know what we need. Having the expertise to say, ‘Yes, you need this, but you need these other things to support that’—that was invaluable.”

How did the process feel?

“Very positive. I couldn’t ask for anything better. I feel much more confident, more prepared. I have things that I didn’t know I needed, and now I have a foundation to build on.”

What stood out most?

“The level of service, the attention, the follow-through. The dialogue helped me see things I didn’t see before. Absolutely, I would recommend working with Anthony. The things you get are invaluable.”

Beyond the deliverables, what did you gain?

“I gained a colleague. It became a two-way relationship, not just a transaction.”

Results That Matter

Donna now has more than a site. She has a platform—and the confidence to grow it.

I’m grateful for the trust Donna placed in me and excited to watch AgingUnbound spark real change for California seniors and their families. This is why I do what I do: helping people bring their mission to life—and feel unstoppable doing it.

Lessons for Solopreneurs

For anyone launching a purpose-driven business:

You need more than you think.

Donna came for a website and discovered she needed a brand framework, messaging, and marketing strategy. Many founders don’t know the full scope at first—that’s normal. Stay curious and trust the process.

Confidence is a deliverable.

The strategies, designs, and systems matter, but the biggest impact comes when you walk away knowing you can do this. Whether you’re launching a brand or pivoting an existing one, don’t just hire someone to “build a thing.” Look for a partner who helps you believe in the vision as much as you do.

Relationships fuel results.

The best work happens when it’s a partnership, not a transaction. Donna and I built a genuine rapport, and that trust made every step smoother.

Takeaway — Great consulting provides more than assets. It gives founders the confidence to act boldly and build sustainably.

Looking Ahead

Donna is already creating content, planning educational opportunities, and thinking about how to expand her reach. Her goal is to keep people in their go-go years well past the expected timeline—and now she has the brand, tools, and confidence to make it happen.

“I’m planning on my go-go to be until 90,” she says with a smile—a goal supported by her commitment to exercise, healthy living, and proactive planning.

Helping a visionary turn an idea into a living, breathing brand is exciting. For me, though, the work is more than the deliverables; it’s helping someone build a life that works for them and the people they care about.
